FREN 341 - Into to Fren Culture & Society
Introduction to French culture and society from the Middle Ages to the present. Possible topics include the role and accomplishments of past and contemporary French women and the visual arts through the study of architecture and paintings from the era of the Cathedrals to abstract art. Materials are drawn from historical accounts, literary works, and artistic production of the different periods. Documentary videos and films are an integral component of this course. Conducted entirely in French. Prerequisite: French 202 with a grade of C+ or better, placement, or equivalent. Alternate years, 2011-12.
